Geofoam Protection Liners
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Geofoam is a lightweight, rigid foam used for embankment fill. Geofoam is approximately 100 times lighter than most soil, but can be covered to look like normal sloped embankments or finished to look like a wall. Geofoam allows the rapid construction of highways, but it needs to be protected from petrochemicals such as gasoline and diesel. Petrochemicals dissolve polystyrene, which could lead to bank destabilization if there was a fuel spill on the highway.
